Andy Harmon is a engineer with a degree from Michigan Tech, where the only thing to do in the long winters was freeze to death or sit inside and watch movies all day. He chose the latter.
Duncan White took a lot of film classes in college. He is currently unemployed.
The origin of Lights, Camera, Average can be found in Andy and Duncan’s high school days. They needed to generate discussion topics for an English class, and rather than actually read something they decided to watch as many of the American Film Institute’s 100 Years… 100 Movies as they could. The teacher, surprisingly, allowed this.
Thus a lasting interest in film was forged, and a bond of fellowship that lasts to this day. Six years later, they are still seeing and, more importantly, talking about the movies. Lights, Camera, Average! is their way of inviting the world to their conversation.
